A spring-loaded pin system operated by a rope from outside the race enables a single person to draft a herd safely and quickly.
The drafting gate is mounted on a pivot, centred on a post with a diameter of 102 mm, height 2.43 m. Its lower part is sheeted to avoid any animal hooves from accidentally passing through.
Its upper part is solid so as to obstruct the view of the animals, to facilitate their progress.
